Sometimes, being a photographer lands you in awkward positions…like knowing evening lighting is best for photos, but having to send your kiddo off for his team baseball photos at high noon. The kiddos are faced with the sun directly in their eyes, they’re all squinting, their hats are too low on their heads to try to keep the sun from blinding them, causing their eyes to be nearly covered and dark from the shadows of the brim of their ball caps. We actually got Hunter’s team photo back and his eyes were closed!

So began the baseball portraits (not that I wouldn’t have anyway!). I knew I wanted quality, unrushed portraits that were different than the standard ones we’re usually offered. Beautiful, even sunlight, clear shots of his jersey displaying his last name and jersey number, genuine smiles (that I have to work hard for!), unique poses, and a bit of personality. This just isn’t something the photographer who photographs an entire league in one day is able to offer due to time constraints and other limitations.

If you’re interested in sports photos of your kiddo, shoot me a message! This would work well for baseball, softball, football, cheer, gymnastics, soccer, volleyball, tennis, etc. The possibilities are truly endless with what we can capture.
