Class of 2019 & 2020
Your senior year is such a special time in your life. You're officially becoming an adult, leaving many chapters in the past, and opening a GREAT BIG door to your future! Your life will change a lot more than you realize now your senior year as you prepare for your new life outside of high school, but it is SO EXCITING! THIS is why I want to work with you to capture lasting memories from such an important time in your life!
What to expect:
For your senior portrait experience, I will gladly help you decide on a location that best fits your personality, whether it be a beach session, something rustic, an urban/city setting, or something entirely unique to you. You are not limited on the number of clothing changes you can bring, though 2-3 are recommended. Your session will last an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the sunlight and the number of clothing changes. After your session, a sneak peek image will be posted shortly thereafter, and your gallery will be fully edited within a three-week time frame. You can expect to receive a minimum of 25 beautifully retouched images that showcase your special session.
Shannon Horton Photography offers a wide range of fine art prints in addition to traditional photo paper (including canvas, metal, and wood), wall art, and other photo products, including custom USB drives, Digital Frames (with all images pre-loaded), acrylic blocks, mini and full sized albums, and more.

(Frequently Asked Questions)
Here you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions. If you have a question that isn't listed below, please don't hesitate to contact me!
Where can I see samples to draw inspiration for a future session I'd like to do?
While most of these are NOT my photos (with the exception of the board labeled Shannon Horton Photography), and I do not copy the work of other photographers, you can click here to view my Pinterest board for samples of work that are consistent with my style in which to draw inspiration from. For ideas of work that is my own, check out my gallery here.
Do you provide a print release so that I may print the images at my photo lab of choice?
No, I do not. As a professional photographer, I use a professional lab available to only photographers. My computer screen is color calibrated with high quality software to ensure that all prints I order are of professional grade and quality and meet my standards. I cannot guarantee the quality of low-end, consumer labs and therefore do not provide a print release. For the same reason, high resolution files are not given.
What photo lab do you use?
I actually use a few different labs which are only available to professional photographers.
What happens if my session gets rained out?
I'm always keeping a close eye on the weather. If we're nearing your session date and the weather is forecasting rain, we will reschedule your session for the next available day and time that works best. You will never be charged for a reschedule due to weather.
What if something comes up and I can't make my session?
The retainer fee is non-refundable in the event of a reschedule. When you pay the retainer, I am securing your spot on the calendar and will not offer your day to any other clients. Sometimes this causes me to miss out on potential clients, but that is a dedication that I make to each and every client I work with. For this reason, the retainer is non-refundable, but we will reschedule you for the next available session that works best for you. Another retainer will be required at that time.
Why must I pay half of my session up front?
Half of your session fee, or the non-refundable retainer fee, secures your spot on the calendar. Once you're on the calendar, you have top priority over all other inquiries. There will not be any other sessions scheduled during your time slot, and this sometimes causes me to have to turn clients away. If you don't show up for your session, or must reschedule, this retainer fee covers a small portion of lost revenue.
What if I'm late to my session?
Since I am a natural light photographer, the sun determines when our session is over. Thankfully, technology assists me in knowing exactly what time that will be (which varies depending upon the time of year) so I know exactly what time our session needs to begin in order to capture that last hour of beautiful, golden sunlight. If you are late, it will cut into our session time. Please make sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time we are to begin.
What if my baby is fussy and just won't cooperate?
Thankfully, I worked with infants for nine years in a private preschool setting and are very accustomed to the way these little ones work. However, that does not make me an expert or a baby-whisperer by any means! You will receive information prior to the session of some tips and tricks to prepare to help ensure we get the best results. However, if those efforts fail and your little one is fussy, we will do everything we can to calm him/her. If we're lucky, your baby will sleep the majority of the time. If not, we will work with your baby to the best of our ability to calm and comfort him/her. Although it's yet to happen, but if all of our best efforts still won't work, we'll reschedule (at no extra fee) and try again another day.
If you still have questions that weren't answered about, please contact me! I would be happy to hear from you and help anyway I can.
